I thought this would be a simple repair. A customer has a beautiful 1973 Yamaha classical in excellent condition. The tuners have cracked buttons and he would like to replace them. The machines have a 1.5" spacing between posts, so there is not a lot of replacement tuner selection without plugging the holes and re-drilling. Also, to me, the tuners are in very nice condition and I would like to seem him keep the original tuners on the guitar. I've tried the usual suspects (Stew-Mac and LMI). The buttons have a screw to hold them on, and a rectangular recess for the post. AllParts has some button that are possibilities. Any other suggestions?

Ive come across repairs such as this numerous times.
If the buttons fit well and are just cracked what about repairing them?Epoxy?
You might get lucky trying older Schaller or Grover buttons.

Those are probably Gotoh tuners.
Get ahold of them & Yamaha.

What are the buttons made of?
Pearl , wood or,Plastic?

I needed a wide spacing machine (don't recall exactly) and one of the members gave me a link to an Allparts listing. That worked, but when I try to search Allparts myself, I cannot find the machines. So, maybe someone will give you a link, if it gets to total replacement.
